Colonie police need help identifying woman fatally struck on Central Avenue


The victim was between 30 and 40 years old with a slight build and a small tattoo of the name “Michael” on his arm

Police need help identifying a woman who was fatally shot on Central Avenue on August 22, 2022.

COLONY — Police are trying to identify a woman who was fatally punched as she walked down Central Avenue on Monday night.

She was rammed around 8:35 p.m. as witnesses said she was walking in the center turn lane near Fairfield Avenue. Colonie police said the driver was traveling west and the woman was walking east. The driver who hit her pulled over and was not intoxicated, officers said.

Police said the victim had no identification on her.

She’s white, around 30-40, 5’5” to 5’7”, 125 lbs, she has brown hair with red highlights on top and a small tattoo on her right arm that says ” Micheal”. “She was wearing jeans, a light colored tank top and gray sneakers at the time of the accident.
