The owner of Stoke-on-Trent’s new hair salon – which has several footballers among its customers – says he wants to cut Robbie Williams’ hair when the singer returns for his comeback gig. Leeroy Chax, who has opened his second Chax Barbers store in Queen Street, Burslem, says he wants to help make Stoke-on-Trent “the place to be”.
Leeroy, who also has a store in Waterloo Road in Cobridge, counts Stoke City players Tom Edwards, Tyrese Campbell and D’Margio Wright-Phillips among his customers and says people keep coming back to his stores because of the atmosphere as well than cut hair. His first shop includes a recording studio and he regularly posts videos of his Barz and Cutz series on his YouTube channel Chax TV.
The 27-year-old, who lives in Birches Head, said: “We offer haircuts, but the shops are very motivating and challenging environments. I love showcasing the talents of young people in the community and j would love to hear from anyone wishing to use the studio.

“The new store is part of the same brand and we filmed here. I’m interested in how we can all improve as people and focus on our skills.”
Leeroy grew up in Cobridge and attended St Margaret Ward Catholic Academy in Tunstall – the same school as Robbie Williams. He said he would like Robbie to come to his new Burslem boutique when he is in town for his June gig in Port Vale.
He said: “Robbie is an inspiration for his height. He showed us all that it doesn’t matter where you come from if you want to be successful.
“I used to say that I wanted to grow up and be a good barber, but I realized that I also wanted to train people. One of my barbers came to see me for the first time in training when he was at school. good energy around me.”
Leeroy, who has worked in London and Dubai, also wants to recruit four additional barbers to work at the new store and says he wants to create more opportunities for people in the city.
He said: “I’m looking for four experienced, ambitious and driven individuals who are looking to take their barber careers to the next level.
“I also try to put on shows and events that will bring people into the city. I really want to help make Stoke-on-Trent the place to be.”
Walk-in tours are available or people can book appointments through the Chax Barbers website, where you can also purchase branded products including tracksuits, beanies and barber equipment. Leeroy also offers a range of courses including Brazilian Blow Dry, Sew in Weft and Tape Hair Extensions.
