Mother-of-two Helen Richmond’s friend Clarissa Bolton of The Salon cut her hair and then shaved her head to match her father Jim Jackson, who lives with his mother Margaret in Ribchester and whose last cancer treatment left him bald.

Helen’s shave at The Old Oak pub in Longridge was encouraged by her husband Matt, children Arthur, 6, and Violet, 3, her brother and sister, as well as other members of her family and friends. her friends, who sponsored her as she raised £ 7,500 for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

Helen said: “My father was diagnosed with bowel cancer five years ago and continues to fight.

“The doctors, nurses and other staff at the Rosemere Cancer Center have been absolutely fantastic with him, and I wanted to do something to raise a lot of money for them so they can continue to help other families. the same way they helped mine. “

There was also a fundraising raffle with 95 prizes, supported by local businesses and other games.

Helen donates her cut hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides free wigs to children and youth who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.
