If you spent the 90s and early 2000s jamming mandy moore“Candy” and “In My Pocket” or “Crush”, we have great news for you! Although, for obvious reasons, Millennials aren’t teenagers anymore, they have another reason to pull out their strapless triangle tops and shake their spiky hair because one of the teenage pop renaissance queens is coming back with new music.
In 2020, Mandy released “Silver Landings,” her first album in 11 years, and you better believe her fans are waiting for Moore — see what we did there? – and she would be up to it.
The singer and actress took to social media to share with her followers how releasing an album during a pandemic impacted her emotions and dashed her big comeback dreams.
“Nearly 2 years ago my first record in 11 years came into the world,” Moore wrote alongside a photo of herself in a recording studio. “We were 4 days away from leaving for my first tour since 2007 when the pandemic shut down the world. It was hard to sort through the myriad of emotions it took to make this music: the disappointment and the heartache of unfulfilled dreams…while we collectively grappled with and mourned the tragedy unfolding in the whole world.
According to Mandy, returning to music was her way of coping with what was happening in the world.. “So I went back to music because it was the only catharsis I could find at home,” she said. “With Taylor Goldsmith and Mike Viola, I started a new record during a very uncertain time…but it was also the hallmark of the final chapter surrounding impending parenthood.”
After reflecting on the difficult years past, the star announced the fantastic news. “Anyway….just to tell you that there is new music coming very soon…and a tour! And I remain present and open to this experience, revealing myself exactly as it is supposed to.* ***PS: Your feedback, love and encouragement is much appreciated. Year done. Thank you guys!! Hope to see you on the road soon!! Xoxoxo,” she concluded.
