Rich Woman Humiliates Poor Woman In Hair Salon And Immediately Learns A Lesson From Her – Story Of The Day:

A rich woman tried to make fun of a poor woman in a barbershop and teach her a lesson due to her husband’s financial situation, but as the events unfolded, she ended up learn a lesson itself.

“See you soon, honey,” Lisa told her husband as he dropped her off at the barber shop.

It had been a long time since Lisa had been to a living room – not since the wedding day, anyway. And that was exactly ten years ago. Ten years is a long time, ten years full of ups and downs.

And what better way to commemorate their wedding anniversary than a good dinner? That despite all the troubles of life, they are still together, with love. And for this very reason, Peter got an appointment with Lisa at a well-established barbershop.

Lisa and her husband, Peter, both come from humble backgrounds. It wasn’t much, but they still had enough to get by. If it hadn’t been for Peter’s special bonus at work this month, they never would have had this hairstylist appointment.

Lisa was hesitant at first – after all, $ 800 is still a big sum, especially for a family that pays $ 900 in rent each month. But it’s their tenth anniversary, as Peter has said over and over again, and eventually Lisa gave in to Peter’s insistence.

How nice to be in a living room like this again, Lisa thought. It reminded him of his big day… oh, it seemed like an eternity. Now she has started to understand why Peter insisted on it, and she is deeply grateful for his gesture.

And what a beautiful place it was. The scent still hung in the air. A mix of flowers and premium hair products. They even had Chopin’s Nocturne play in the background, unlike the pop hits she’d gotten used to in her regular hair salon. It was like a dream, but the scent reminded him it wasn’t.

In the distance, she could see a group of women in their fifties talking and laughing about trivial matters, probably chatting.

“Welcome to Paradiso Pasadena, Mrs. Lowry. Please follow me, ”the staff greeted Lisa and led her to a seat next to the ladies’ group. “What style would you like to adopt today? asked the hairdresser.

“To be honest, I’m not quite sure,” Lisa replied. “Something modest, I guess. It’s my wedding anniversary. My husband and I are going out for dinner in a few hours.

One of the women sitting next to her seemed to have noticed their interaction and intervened. “. Any idea which restaurant you go to? she asked enthusiastically, but Lisa could sense the arrogance in her tone.

“Oh, probably a little French restaurant downtown somewhere. My husband tries to keep it a secret, ”Lisa replied.

“Oh you have to try Republic. Good food, I tell you. And the chef… Jean-Marie I think? What a beautiful boy, said the woman, letting out a small sneer.

“Calm down, Maude. Just because your husband went on a business trip with his French secretary doesn’t mean you have to find yourself a Frenchman, ”added another woman.

Lisa could feel the awkwardness in the air, but to her surprise, Maude simply shrugged. “That sore bastard… I hope he stays away forever.” Guess what? On my birthday he brought me to Chikyuu For dinner. Can you believe that? “

“It’s still a good restaurant …” intervened another woman. But before she could finish, Maude interrupted her.

“Karen, you know how much I hate Japanese food. 30 years of marriage, 30 years and he still does not succeed. To be honest, sometimes I wonder when he’s going to have a heart attack so I can just take the money and move to Paris or something, ”concludes Maude contemptuously.

She turned to Lisa who was stunned by all the interaction. “What about your husband? What is he doing?” asked Maude.

Lisa avoided eye contact in the hopes of avoiding the conversation altogether. But she could feel that Maude was still watching her, and there was no escape. “Oh… nothing special. Just a small commercial company in the city center.

“It must be difficult to run a small business on your own.”

“Not like that. He’s just an accountant,” Lisa regretted her answer as soon as she finished her sentence. There was an awkward silence in the air, amplified by the sudden stop of the barber.

Maude finally responded after a few seconds. “Listen, kid. You are young, you are beautiful. You should find a man who can support you. That’s all we can do as a woman, kid. Let me tell you, we will grow old, and you certainly will. “

She paused for a moment before adding, “Don’t say I didn’t warn you, kid.” When you get older, with a mortgage or whatever you have to pay off, you’ll regret it. Find someone else while you still can. Find someone who can really take care of you.

Maude turned to her companions. “Hey, Karen, when are you going to Barcelona again?” Oh, darling, you to have go see that club over there… ”

Lisa sat there in silence for a while as the barber worked on her hair. Meanwhile, she looked at herself in the mirror as Maude’s words lingered. “We will grow old … You will come to regret it …”

She took a look at her own wedding ring, a gold ring with the quote Amor Vincit Omnia engraved on it. She thought about her wedding day.

“… For better, for worse, for the richest, for the poorest, sick and healthy, to love and cherish…” the words came back to her as she began to stroke her ring.

She thought about their honeymoon in Hawaii, the crimson sun slowly setting below the horizon, waves forming and dissipating along the Pacific coast, birds flying high above.

She thought back to the first time she had met Peter in a cafe, the way he had approached her with that shy smile. She thought about the time when they had tried roast turkey for the first time, and how they almost burned the kitchen… A smile rose on her face.

“… For better, for worse, for the richest, for the poorest…”

“That’s it. Do you like it?” The hairdresser interrupted his thoughts.

“That’s adorable! Thank you very much…” At that moment, the living room door opened and she noticed a familiar face near the door frame.

Peter slowly walked over to Lisa and gave her a kiss on the forehead. “You are beautiful, honey. Absolutely stunning.”

Lisa could see the smile on his face – of patience, kindness and confidence. She thought back to the day they got married, and wondered how despite all the changes, the good things still remained, and how her eyes still looked so blue after all these years.

“A handsome boy, isn’t he?” Karen remarked, motioning for Maude to look at the young couple.

But Maude was silent. She let out a slight smile followed by a soft sigh as the young couple walked out of the living room, hand in hand, into the hot summer night outside.

She thought of the boy she knew from school. She thought of the park they had once walked into hand in hand.

She wondered how he was doing.

What can we learn from this story?

Money does not buy love, nor happiness for that matter. The joy of living lies in the ability to appreciate what you have. Appreciate the little things and be grateful for what we have. Only then will we realize what really matters. And remember, love is not measured by material wealth.
