One of the benefits of being a daytime TV regular is access to some of the UK’s best hair and make-up artists – which Ruth Langsford certainly makes the most of. The Loose Women and This Morning host came to see a famous colorist Josh Wood for a pre-spring color and fit refresh this week, and left looking like a new woman.
Ruth documented the hair process on her Instagram account with her 1 million followers, offering insight into the full ‘bake’ foil stage followed by the finished blow-dry look. She aptly added Smokii Smalls’ song Blonde Girl to the clip, where Josh can be seen in the background placing leaves on sections of Ruth’s medium-blonde hair.
The end result is fresh and gorgeous, with the presenter’s hair now featuring more contrasting light and dark blonde highlights and highlights. She also did something different with her chop, opting for featherier bangs and heavily layered lengths. The cut actually looks a bit like a shag with all those really heavy layers – very 2022, Ruth.
The star hasn’t been in a hair salon for a long time for a style makeover. Just a few weeks ago, the 61-year-old decided to switch from her usual strip extension to flat-tip bonds, documenting the process in an Instagram reel. Ruth explained that she has extensions for added volume, not length, and can briefly be seen with hair much longer than her signature style before it was cut to match her natural hair.
“So that’s how it was done…changing my tape extensions for new Flat Tip Bonds,” she captioned the clip shared with her 1 million followers. “I had a little more than usual… the result is subtle but believe me, I can really feel the difference.
“As you can see, I didn’t get them for the length, just for the volume,” she added. “Thank you for your great work @extensions_bylauren and thank you @leobancroft for the recommendation! »
Before she got extensions, the daytime TV regular also delighted fans with a post grid video tutorial on how she creates her signature “bendy wave” hairstyle.
“Thank you for all your lovely comments about my hair on This Morning,” she wrote. “This is how @livdaveymakeup creates this ‘bent over’ wavy look…clips in pieces, a flat iron and lots of hair dust!”
Thanks for the style secrets, Ruth!
