The work of apprentice hairdressers and beauticians to celebrate

The achievements of hairdressing and beauty students will be celebrated at an awards night at Uckfield on Monday 28th February.

The event, run by Uckfield-based training center Partners 4 Training, has grown significantly since it was first suggested in March 2020.

The idea then was to throw a small graduation party for five students once they had completed their qualification – then Covid hit and the plans were scuppered.

Qualifications

Now over 35 students have completed their qualifications with more finishing each month.

Last year, the training center also welcomed its first cohort of Level 3 apprentices to its new Advanced Hairdressing Qualification course.

Training center office manager Josh King said: “This qualification requires students to create a collection of themed looks and present them to an audience.”

Opportunity

Josh added, “What better opportunity than this to combine events, show off the brilliant work of our students, and celebrate the achievements of our graduates all at the same time.”

Twelve hair collections will be presented during the evening on a range of themes from the Wizard of Oz to wedding hairstyles.

Level 2 students will also create a “Hair Up” look on a course head. Then, the guests at the ceremony will be asked to vote for their favorite.

Price

There will be certificates of achievement for students who complete their training and special awards for those who have excelled over the past two years.

Josh said: “We hope this will become an annual event, with new Level 3 students showcasing their appearance each year and giving us a chance to celebrate our students.”

• Guests only will be able to attend this year’s ceremony which will take place at the Civic Centre, Uckfield.
